With Islam being the most prominent religion in Albania, family values and traditions primarily have Muslim roots. This makes it difficult for some Albanians to publicly convert to Christianity. Islamic traditions calls for the families of those who convert to Christianity to disown or excommunicate that relative from their family.
Three new believers have had to make the difficult decision to follow Jesus against the wishes and threats of their families. One couple made the decision to get baptized and raise their two children in a Christian household.
Another believer used her baptism ceremony as an opportunity to invite her traditionally Muslim friends to celebrate with her. She shared of the impact that Jesus has had on her life and invited everyone to trust in Jesus. These three believers have gone against cultural norms in order to show how Jesus has worked in their lives.
